We love dogs. Your little friend is very welcome to come to stay, and will enjoy the nearby open spaces available to walk and run.
If you're thinking of booking, please be aware that the cottage doesn't have it's own garden. Also, we request that your dog doesn't go into the carpeted bedroom areas, or on the furniture. This enables us to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for all.
There are several nearby areas that are suitable for taking a dog for a walk, but you many need to use a lead.
Directly across the road is the Bishop’s Garden. This comprises a circular seated area, plus a large grassed area with trees behind. The only people we see using this area are also walking a dog. The semicircle of seating makes it a decent place to sit out in the evening.
For a morning walk, many previous visitors to Dial Cottage have taken their dog down the lane to the Bishop’s Palace. When you go into the walled area (entry is free, and dogs are officially welcome on a lead) you'll discover a large grassy area that you'll usually get all to yourself. You can see how to get to the Bishops' Palace by clicking here.

Pictured below is Freshwater West beach. Just like Freshwater East, our nearest beach, it is one of several local beaches with no restrictions on dogs all year round.
